Intro from wiki Page:The ACC-Asia Cup is an international men's tournament one day International Cricket. Founded in 1983, when the Asian Cricket Council was founded as a measure to promote goodwill among Asian countries. It was originally planned for two years. The first tournament was held in 1984 in Sharjah in the UAE, where city offices were based (until 1995). The International Cricket Council has decided that all official matches played by the Asia Cup one-day international status. India lifted the Asian Cup the most times (five), followed by Sri Lanka (four). The India appeared in all Cups, except 1986 (India, developed as a result of strained relations with Sri Lanka Cricket), 1993 (when it was canceled due to the strained political relations between India and Pakistan) and 2000 glasses. Sri Lanka, however, have appeared in every final since the founding of the cup. The ACC has announced that the tournament is held every two years from 2008.
Pakistan announced the squad for Asia Cup today after selection concluding consultations with the newly appointed coach Dav Whatmore of Pakistan.
